OK, first word you think of when someone says "Oregon?" Sigh...I know, rain, right?

Not anymore! Only twenty miles north of the California border, Talent basks in banana-belt, Rogue Valley sunshine all year long. An artsy bedroom community of Shakespeare festival-famous Ashland, it boasts award-winning wineries and Class 5 rafting on the gorgeous Rogue River.

No Target, no Wal-Mart ... but a twenty-bucks-gets-you-in live theatre that never disappoints. Annabelle and I caught a stunning Joni Mitchell tribute here with an audience of about 70 that we still marvel at.
